I teach Photography and Graphic Design at ACHS. My wife MaryBeth Knight-Greene and I coach Cross Country.
I love living and teaching in Ashe County. The students are great and the place is beautiful.
My photography classes 'focus' on black and white FILM photography. I do units on digital photography and Adobe Photoshop as well. The students learn everything from developing film, to developing and matting prints for presentation. We explore many creative techniques which are accomplished in the darkroom like; double exposures, using toners, solarization, etc.
My graphic design classes explore ways of creating designs in the most aesthetically pleasing and eye catching ways in order to attract the viewers attention. We also use Photoshop and Illustrator. We have created many logos for businesses in the community and several students have won monetary awards.
As far as Cross Country goes, well, we're pretty good.

I have a B.S. in Art Education from Appalachian State University with a concentration in Photography. My original major was Graphic Design.
I have an M.A. in Guidance Counseling (K-12) from Villanova University.
I ran Track at Methodist University and ASU (one year at each). My events were the 110 high hurdles and 400m IM hurdles. I trained with the Cross Country team at ASU.
I was a carpenter for several years (Stony Creek Builders - family business).
I used to raise and train and shoe horses. I worked on a horse farm in Penn. where Man-O-War was once stabled. I still own horses and enjoy riding them, not that I have time!
I spent several summers working on ranches in Montana, where I mended fences, trained horses, and branded cattle.
Most importantly, I'm married to the lovely MB Knight-Greene and we have a little boy, 9, and a little girl, 5. The kids provide lots of entertainment and photo ops!
